iDOL 46 is a 30 mm capacitive relay sensor that is ATEX / IECEx approved, meaning it is certified for use in environments where explosive dust is a risk - specifically Zone 20 and Zone 21.
The sensor detects the presence or absence of materials (like feed, grain, or other bulk goods) using capacitive sensing. Its explosion‑safe certification makes it suitable for dusty agricultural or industrial environments.
The iDOL 46 capacitive relay sensor is a 30 mm ATEX‑certified sensor designed to detect feed, grain, and solid materials in general. A capacitive relay sensor is typically used as an empty/full/level indicator in tanks, silos, and containers. Its powerful built‑in relay allows it to directly control many functions.
The iDOL 46 sensor for explosive dust environments is approved for operation in potentially explosive dust atmospheres according to ATEX Directive 2014/34/EU and IECEx. The sensor is classified in Explosion Group II, which covers all hazardous areas except mines. Capacitive sensors are classified as equipment for environments where explosive dust with an ignition temperature above 85 °C may be continuously present. Thanks to its ATEX certification, the sensor is suitable for installations classified as Zone 20 and Zone 21, where there is an imminent risk of dust‑related explosions.
The iDOL 46 sensor features a robust design with a plastic housing tested to withstand 7 joules of impact/shock.
Using the user‑friendly SmartAdjust app on a smartphone, you can easily adjust the detection distance, on/off delay, and maximum run timer. Compared to traditional capacitive sensors, the SmartAdjust app provides access to more parameters, resulting in a more flexible sensor that can be tailored to individual user needs.
You can save your settings in the app and apply them to new sensors. You can also send settings anywhere in the world to assist customers or technicians when configuring sensors.
The iDOL 46 ATEX has a red LED indicating sensor status and a green LED indicating power. The LEDs can be turned off using the SmartAdjust app.
The iDOL 46 ATEX capacitive relay sensor can be easily mounted in a plastic cable gland, or externally using a flange solution. Multiple mounting options are available.The iDOL 46 ATEX can also be mounted on 40–60 mm tubes using our specially designed T‑piece.
