DOL 114 - Humidity and Temperature Sensor
The DOL 114 is a high-precision sensor for measuring both relative humidity and temperature simultaneously. It is engineered and build for livestock houses but is also well suited for several industrial applications. The sensor has the same excellent properties as the DOL 104 digital humidity sensor.
By monitoring both humidity and temperature, the DOL 114 ensures that the air is optimized for breathing and the formation of mold is avoided.
Temperature Has a Huge Effect on Animal Welfare
Temperature is without question the single most important parameter to monitor when it comes to optimum conditions in livestock production.
If the temperature is too high, feed consumption drops which causes decreased weight gain, a very costly effect to producers. Animals can suffer and may increase mortality rates, another very costly aspect to high temperatures.
If the temperature is too low, most of the feed intake will go to keeping the animals warm instead of growth rates, which leads to production loss.
DOL 114 Can Prevent Ammonia Formation
High humidity levels in poultry production can lead to formation of ammonia which have severe impact on mortality rate and FCR.
Due to the built-in filter and the sensor element makes DOL 114 very suitable for application in environments with constantly high humidity. A protective cap is available for DOL 114, eliminating the need to remove the sensor when cleaning the livestock house.
Humidity is the presence of water in the air. A high humidity can affect the animal welfare and lead to ammonia and mold formation.
To ensure an optimum measurement of the humidity in livestock houses, DOL 114 should be placed in the middle of the stable where that the airflow is higher than against the wall and so close to the animals as possible.
Humidity and temperature sensors like DOL 114 are used in agriculture to avoid extreme warm and cold temperatures, livestock stress and poor production as well as the formation of ammonia and mold.
DOL 114 is a very accurate humidity and temperature sensor. For the 10V variant the sensor has an accuracy of + 2%RH (40 – 85 %) + 3%RH (10-95%) at 0-40°C for the humidity measurement and an accuracy of +10 °C – 40 °C: + 0.5 °C. - 30 °C – 60 °C: + 1.5 °C for the temperature measurement.
